The Nexus

Nexus Ecosystem

Self-hosting made simple (and private)

For businesses and individuals alike, access to private and sensitive information has to be handled responsibly. Meet the Nexus, Missing Link's plug-and-play integrated solution of Hardware and Software for private (and secure) networks. Whilst the Nexus' Cores provide communication, collaboration and entertainment services, access to them is gated by Relays (i.e., pocket-sized devices that act like WI-FI access points). Wherever they are in the world, Relays will maintain a fully encrypted network around the Core, allowing trusted individuals to communicate as if they were within the same private network.

The whole ecosystem provides a deeper Zero-Trust Architecture (ZTA) beyond what exists on the market today, in which: no client needs to trust our product to validate its behavior; no device requires trusting on any other device on a network by default; and no data leaves an established network in a format readable by anyone other than the networks' participants. What lives inside the Nexus, stays inside the Nexus.

If you want to setup your Nexus on top of an already existing infrastructure, the system is flexible enough to accommodate for third-party services - with minimal compromise of privacy and security. For external services (e.g., cloud file backups), the Nexus will automatically encrypt all data before uploading it. For internal services (that require you to run software within your network), the Nexus will automatically isolate them from the rest of the ecosystem.

One big advantage in large cloud providers managing our data is redundancy and availability. If any one data-center goes down (along with our data), there will be redundant hardware and software somewhere else on the globe to maintain service 24/7. The same concept applies to the Nexus. Although a Core can (and will) work standalone, multiple Cores may be part of the same Nexus to allow Relays to seemlessly remain connected during unexpected events.

Managing which users can access specific resources is a daunting and time-consuming task. As devices, clients, employees, collaborators and services come and go, this work quickly escalades to a full-time endeavor. Here, the interaction between Cores and Relays facilitates much of this work. Through a simple interface you can pair new Relays with Cores, select which Relays can (and cannot) view certain parts of your infrastructure, or even altoghether prevent them from ever joinning your Nexus again.

Our products

Zero-Trust Architecture

For a plug-and-play integrated solution of hardware and software that creates private (and secure) networks between all of your devices.

Nexus Core render

This is the central component of the Nexus. It hosts a multitude of collaboration, communication and entertainment services and readily makes them available to devices on your network. In the long-run, we plan to add modular upgrades for our devices. These include storage expansion, AI-capable GPUs, and increased connectivity.

Nexus Relay render

These are effectively gateways to your Nexus. You can connect any devices you'd like via WI-FI - such as a smartphone, tablet, or laptop - to allow them into your network. This keeps all of your traffic secure and provides access to all your self-hosted services.
